About the Maker

Hello, I’m Sherrie - the founder and maker behind Latherela.

As a healthcare professional, caring for others has always been at the heart of what I do. Soapmaking began as a creative outlet, but it quickly grew into a passion that allowed me to combine science, artistry, and craftsmanship into something meaningful.

What started as curiosity soon became countless hours of learning, experimenting, and perfecting recipes. Along the way, I discovered that soap can be more than a daily necessity-it can transform an ordinary routine into a moment of comfort, indulgence, and self-care.

One of the most meaningful moments in my soapmaking journey happened close to home. Like many makers, my first product testers were family members. 

My mom has always been my first tester, eagerly waiting for each new batch to finish curing. She loves trying every new creation and has developed a few favorites.

When I created a charcoal soap bar specifically for my husband, Philippe, I simply hoped he would enjoy it. What I didn’t expect was that it would completely replace the products he had been used to using for years. Today, Philippe still reaches for that same charcoal bar, and there are no signs of him going back. Watching someone I love genuinely enjoy something I crafted from scratch was both rewarding and inspiring. It was a reminder that soap isn’t just about cleansing-it’s about creating an experience people look forward to every day.

Every Latherela soap is handcrafted in small batches and thoughtfully formulated with a carefully measured superfat level, allowing a portion of nourishing oils and butters to remain in the finished bar. The result is a rich, luxurious lather designed to leave skin feeling soft, comforted, and cared for.

Inspired by my Filipino heritage, a love of craftsmanship, and the belief that self-care matters at every stage of life, I create soaps that are especially suited for those seeking a gentle, nourishing, and indulgent cleansing experience.

My hope is that every bar brings a small moment of luxury to your day and serves as a reminder to care for yourself with the same kindness you give to others.
